The machine shop at Axiom has undergone a significant refurbishment to upgrade the facilities, improve efficiency and strengthen the in-house quality and Health & Safety requirements. The company has invested in a new quality inspection facility, improved the stacking and storage areas for packaging and raw materials as well as purchasing a new XYZ machine to strengthen business’s standards and facilities.
In addition a number of new highly experienced staff members have joined the team in the design office and management team and the company is in the process of recruiting a new machinist to reflect the strength of business and future growth.

Axiom have been delighted to assist a keen local windsurfer in the development of an innovative, new ‘Board Protector’ which protects the nose of windsurf boards from scuffs and damage from mast and sail impact.
Axiom were approached with a concept idea for the product which they assisted the customer in taking to an injection mouldable product, this was then 3D printed at various stages of the design to assess the part’s performance.
Once the design was approved, tooling design was finalised and the rapid aluminium tooling was produced on the in-house 5 axis DMU machines.
Axiom produced a short run production of the product on its in-house Negri Bossi 90t machine in a recycled PC/ABS material and delivered it to the customer fully finalised in its POS (point of sale) packaging.

Tom Bridle has joined Axiom as a Design Engineer with over 10 experience working as a CAD Designer in the automotive, aerospace and medical industries. Tom is an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for Computer-Aided Design, modelling and technical drafting. He has specialist skills in the design of CMM inspection fixtures, machining fixtures and assembly fixtures for automated and manual processes as well as jig design, design for manufacture, metrology and GD&T.
Tom is experienced in the drafting of technical drawings and the application of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as well as the review and adaptation of customer applications. Tom has skills in CAD design for end of arm tooling and various pneumatic and automated machinery as well as the ability to design to account for production tooling and bespoke/low volume tooling.
Tom will greatly enhance the design capabilities at Axiom with his experience in Computer-Aided Design, 3D printing, metrology, GD&T and automation.
The team at Axiom have recently delivered a suit of CMM Inspection Fixtures for an automotive customer which will enable them to accurately measure parts.
Coordinate Measuring Machines ( CMM ) are industrial inspection machines that measure the dimensional accuracy of manufactured goods which is an important step to monitoring production quality to ensure manufactured components meet design specifications.
Axiom were delighted to design and manufacture these inspection fixtures in house to a high standard within a quick turnaround time.
A manufacturing aid is defined as a device, platform, tool, jig or fixture that is used to enhance, speed up, perfect or fix a manufacturing or assembly production.
Axiom specialise in both the assessment of the manufacturing problem combined with design and build of a suitable aid and also ‘build to pint’ manufacturing aids, where the client sends through the design.

The Axiom team were delighted to assist this British customer in the design, product development and manufacture of these colourful golf course markers.
The client approached them with an idea which the experienced design team at Axiom drew up into a working design. The tool for this product was then machined in-house into a plastic injection mould tool which was then used on the in-house Negri Bossi machine to manufacture the plastic injection parts in assorted colours. These parts were then over moulded onto the steel pins.
