This is very much a hands-on role within a small, specialised manufacturing business. You will get exposure to all parts of the design, engineering, manufacturing, inspection and purchasing processes. This will give you wide ranging experience within a quality manufacturing facility.

Principal Activities

  • Support the CAD design process and manufacture of tooling and CNC machined products.
  • Liaise with account managers and customers over product design requirements and supply a full CAD package.
  • Consider customer design change requests and how these may impact on your designed product and the impact this may have on manufacturing. Ensuring all designs are approved by the customer prior to manufacture.
  • Work with the Design Engineer to develop the CAD design process and investigate potential cost savings through better designs, design methodologies, production processes or more cost-effective materials.
  • Support the laser inspection process of finished products to ensure all key criteria are met.
  • Work within the team to provide design and engineering support to all areas of the business.

Qualification & Requirements

  • You will ideally be graduate or equivalent qualified in a relevant subject.
  • Ability to product design in 2D and 3D CAD, ideally with experience of VISI/Vero.
  • Ideally you will have a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, possibly including CNC machining.
  • Keen, enthusiastic, and personable, with an ability to interact with customers and other members of the team. You must be able to multi-task across several projects and customers. You will need to be self-driven, whilst still working well within our small friendly team. Good attention to detail and quality is essential.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop skills in many areas.
